Tarantula from Advanced Nutrients is a new break through product for soil and hydroponic growing mediums. Tarantula is a bacterial blend of 57 microorganisms, with 1.4 billion Colony Forming Units per gram. This gives Tarantula the highest concentration of microorganisms for any plant growth product in the world. This rich blend of microorganisms contains Bacillus, Streptomycetes Actinomycetes, and Psuedomonas for massive plant growth.

This mixture of diverse and extremely rich microorganisms forms a symbiotic relationship between the plants root zone in the rhizsosphere. This produces extremely healthy, strong plants and superior root systems making the plants able to sustain many different types of stresses produced by the variables of nature.
Tarantula has been thoroughly developed and field tested for over 3 years and during those field trials, Tarantula provided exceptional growth of test plants through both the vegetative and flowering phases. Root mass was even further increased in field trials when Tarantula was used along with Piranha, the plots that had both Tarantula and Piranha saw an increase of 25% more growth than with Piranha alone. Tarantula also releases through microbial action very powerful cytokinins that aid the plant in greater lateral branching and producing more budding sites along with greater girth and weight.
Over the last 460 million years beneficial soil microorganisms have developed a symbiotic relationship with plants. When a plant produces photosynthetic compounds it releases a carbon exudates into the soil, which microorganisms utilize as a good source. The microbes in the rhizsosphere surround the root to get at this food source. In turn, the microorganisms protect the plant roots from nematodes and pathogens, recycle nutrients, improve the surrounding soil structure and solubilize minerals for plant availability. Both plant and soil organism benefit and the result is a healthier plant and soil.
Unfortunately today many soils are grossly out of balance and are virtually devoid of beneficial microbial populations. This is due primarily to clearing natural areas, disturbance and over reliance on pesticides and inorganic fertilizers to treat the symptoms rather than the cause of the problem; both adversely affect the beneficial microbial populations found in healthy soil. Tarantula re-establishes beneficial microbial populations and provides the soil with the necessary components to promote healthy growth and reduce plant stress.
The role of beneficial bacteria in the soil is multidimensional. The beneficial bacteria consume the food source for such pathogenic fungi as pythium, fusarium, rhizoctonia and phytophthora keeping them in check through the process by reducing or eliminating the resources available to them. Many species also have the ability to produce an antibiotic which inhibits protein synthesis by soil pathogens. When they loose their ability to synthesize proteins they perish. Other bacteria have the ability to synthesize chitinase. This enzyme has the capacity to degrade specific chitin compounds, the primary component found in the cell wall of some of the most problematic pathogenic fungi. Once their cell wall has been damaged they can no longer regulate metabolic functions
