About The Waterfarms The compact WaterFarm is made by General Hydroponics and measures a mere 10"x10"x15" tall, with a reservoir capacity of 2.5 gallons. The unique square design allows you to connect several WaterFarms together in close proximity, indoors or out. You can grow any size plants in this system, but the WaterFarm is particularly suited to accommodate larger plants like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. This system comes complete with 8 Waterfarm modules, a standard controller, air pumps and a flora kit. Grow rocks are not included with this kit. About the Controller The Controller included in this kit is also made by General Hydroponics and contains eight gallons, and is continually refilled from the 13 gallon master reservoir. The Controller is very simple - a container with a float valve is connected to the line of units. A master reservoir filled with fresh water and mild nutrient is located on top of the float-valve actuated Controller. As the plants draw water from their individual reservoirs, the liquid levels drop causing the float valve in the Controller to open and draw fresh nutrient from the master reservoir. This automatically maintains the ideal nutrient level in all the interconnected units, simple, elegant, reliable and inexpensive. The Controller System enables you to take a few days off from your hydroponic unit maintenance by automating the nutrient supply. The Controller is a very practical product and will quickly prove to be invaluable if you want to run several hydroponic modules in a line. The Controller requires a level area to work properly - all interconnected units must be set at the same height since water will always seek a common level.
