GreenCoast Hydroponics was the first hydroponics store to open in Long Beach, CA. From those early days we have expanded to our 12,000sq.ft. showroom which is now one of the few hydro shops where you can drop in and expect to fill a commercial grow system with 50 lights or more.

Our Long Beach store was officially declared a Recognized Green Business in Sept. 2011 by the City of Long Beach.
Based on the completed Green Business Recognition Program application and an audit conducted by the City of Long Beach Office of Sustainability, on September 6, 2011. Below is a list of the most progressive, environmentally conscious practices our business has implemented.
- Recycling a variety of materials, including ink and printer cartridges, e-waste, paper, plastic, glass and metal.
- Purchasing sustainable products, including biodegradable corn starch materials, green cleaning products, post consumer recycled materials, and klean kantees for employees.
- Using environmentally friendly packaging materials.
- Participated in SCE’s energy audit, and implementation of motion sensors, lighting controls, and compact fluorescent bulbs.
- Promoting smarter transportation by having an employee ride or bike share program, as well as planning delivery routes to reduce trips.
- Installation of low-flow toilets and waterless urinals.
- Offering customer green service options, such as drip systems.
- Incorporating green items into the company’s promotional materials, and establishing an active employee green committee.
- Participation in local green events, such as the Sustainable Harvest program.
